Power Spelling makes reordering and editing word lists easy. Remember, you can also make copies of lists. That allows you to keep your original word list and create multiple versions of the same word lists.

  1. Click on My Word List from the left menu.

  2. Click on the underlined title of the desired list.

  3. Click the copy button to make a copy of any list (optional). This allows you to make multiple versions of the same list.

  4. The reordering and editing tools are located at the top of each word list.

Automatic Reorder

Click on Auto Reorder button. You have to options:

  • Alphabetize Words – Words on the word list will automatically be reordered from A-Z.

  • Shuffle List Order – Words will be randomly shuffled and reordered.

Games and tests will provide students words in the order the words appear on a list.

Making multiple versions of the same list and shuffling the order of the words allows students to practice the words in a variety of ways.

Manual Reorder

  1. Click the Manual Reorder button. A green Move button will now appear in each word card.

  2. Click the Move button to the right of the word you would like to move, or reorder.

The pop-up box will then give you three options for moving this word.

    • Move to Top - This automatically moves this word to the first word in the list.

    • Move to Bottom - This automatically moves this word to the last word in the list.

    • Move to… - You will manually enter the # placement for the word. Make sure to click Go after entering the number.

When you are done reordering, click the Reorder Off button.

Adding and Removing Words to the Word List

To add one or multiple words to the list, click the Batch Entry button. This allows you to enter a list of words quickly to the existing list.

Please add a sentence to any words that do not already have a sentence. The sentence box will be highlighted in yellow. Click inside to textbox to enter the new sentence.

To remove a word, click the Remove button to the right of the word. The word and sentence will be removed from the list.
