Quick Step-by-Step Guide to Assigning Games and Tests
Select the Word List
Review the Word List if needed (Click on underlined list title to preview)
Click the Assign Test or Assign Game button
Select test or game options
Select test or game options
Select desired students

Selecting a List
In the left menu, you will see a Word List section.
My Word Lists are lists that you create. Customize a list to meet the needs of your students/children.
Shared Word Lists have been shared with you by other colleagues in the platform.
Grade Level Word Lists provide suggested word lists for each grade level. However, you can use these lists with any student.
Publisher Word Lists are created by top Reading Publishers. They are sorted by grade level and systematically ordered to be used during a traditional school year.
Public Word Lists have been created by Power Spelling users and shared for general use.
Note: This guide will model using a Publisher Word List.

Previewing a List
From the left menu, click on the type of list you wish to use.
Use the More Filters button to find the desired word list.
Click on the underlined title of the word list to preview the words and sentences.
Scroll down the list to review the words and sentences that are included in this list. If you would like to use this list, click on the blue Assign Test, Assign Game, or Print List button at the top of the panel.
If you don’t need to preview a list and are ready to just assign it, you can click directly on the blue Assign Game, Assign Test, or Print List button right next to the underlined title of the list.
Note: You can also copy a list. Once you copy a list, it will appear under “My Word Lists” from the left menu. You can then edit the list’s title, words, and sentences.
Assigning a Test
Click on the Assign Test button for the desired list (click on underlined list title to preview the list in the right panel).
Select the type of test to administer:
Teacher Led - The spelling words are manually read aloud to the student by the parent.
Automated - Students click on a button to hear each word and sentence read aloud by the platform. Students can click on each word and sentence button multiple times and work independently, at their own pace.
Mark the test’s status:
Active - Students have access and can begin the test
Inactive - Students do not have access to the test
Scheduled - Set the dates students have access to the test
Click the Next button.
Now you can click the green Assign button for each group that will be completing this test.
Then click the Create Assignment button.
Assigning Games
Click on My Words List from the left menu.
Click the Assign Test or Assign Game button for the desired list. To preview the list first, click on the underlined title of the word list.
Make sure to scroll down to view all of the game options. Click on the desired game or games you would like to assign.
Mark the game’s status:
Active - Students have access and can begin the game
Inactive - Students do not have access to the game
Scheduled - Set the dates students have access to the game
Click the Next button.
Now you can click the green Assign button for each group that will be completing this test.
Then click the Create Assignment button.
