I'm trying to study a language but my avatar speaks in my native language

If your avatar does not speak in your target language right off the bat, do not panic! The avatar is programmed to speak in your native language if your level of study language is not enough to practice conversation directly. The avatar will guide you through new words in your study language until you build up enough vocabulary to be able to face a conversation in your study language. You can turn off this feature in your Profile tab, where you’ll find a toggle called “Study in your native language.” When switched on, the tutor will adapt lessons so explanations, guidance, and instructions come in your native language, while you gradually build confidence in the language you’re learning.
