Catalog settings & sync

Manage how Prefixbox handles your product catalog and keeps it up to date.

Updated this week

Catalog settings control how your products appear in search and collection pages, while catalog sync ensures Prefixbox always has the latest data from your store.

Both can be found in Configuration > Generic.

Catalog settings

In this section, you can adjust how your catalog appears and behaves in Prefixbox:

  • Hide out-of-stock products β€” Choose whether sold-out items should be removed from search and collections.

  • Enable multi-market support β€” Click Enable and follow the prompt to give Prefixbox permission to access your markets.

  • Show product variants separately β€” Decide if products with multiple variants should appear as individual items or as a single main product.

Manage out-of-stock products, enable multi-market support, and export variants individually

Update data permissions just like during the Prefixbox app installation

πŸ’‘ Hint: Permissions like Markets and Publications (needed for multi-market support) can be revoked at any time without affecting the rest of Prefixbox’s features. For details, see the App & plans overview article.

Catalog sync

Prefixbox syncs your catalog automatically several times a day. The exact frequency depends on your plan:

  • Free β€” every 24 hours

  • Grow β€” every 6 hours

  • Essentials β€” every 3 hours

  • Standard β€” every 2 hours

If you need changes to appear faster, use Force sync to re-sync your products immediately (e.g., after adding new fields).

See past syncs and trigger manual updates when needed

⚠️ Important: After clicking Force sync, changes may take a few minutes to appear in your store.

On this page you can also:

  • View sync history β€” See the time and status of each sync for both search and collection pages.

  • Download sync logs β€” Export the full sync details for troubleshooting.

  • Force sync β€” Instantly re-sync your products after making major changes (like adding new fields).
