You can use Shopify’s Selling Plan feature with PreOrder Now (PON) to offer partial payment options for your preorder products. This gives your customers more flexibility and can help boost conversions.
Step 1: Enable Shopify Purchase Options in PON
In the PON app, go to the “Settings” tab and select “Default.”
Check the box for “Enable Shopify Purchase Options.”
Make sure your store is using Shopify Payments or PayPal.
Step 2: Enable Partial Payment for a Product
Go to the “Preorder Products” tab.
Open the specific product variant you want to edit.
If the product has no variants, you can stay in the Default Settings tab.
Under product settings, enable partial payment by selecting:
Partial Percentage or
Partial Fixed Amount
Click Save.
Step 3: Confirm Selling Plan Is Created in Shopify
In your Shopify admin, go to the product or variant and confirm that the Selling Plan section is visible.
Step 4: Add the PreOrder Now Code Block to Your Theme
Go to Online Store > Themes.
Click Customize on your current theme.
At the top, switch to Products, then open your product template.
In the left-side panel, click Add Block.
Select Apps > Pre-Order Now – Plans.
Save your customized theme.
Now, check your product page to confirm the partial payment code block appears on the storefront.
