Managing PreOrder Inventory in Pre-Order Now

Updated over a week ago

Managing inventory for your pre-orders is simple with Pre-Order Now (PON). You can choose how the app handles out-of-stock items depending on your store’s strategy.

To set up inventory management:

  1. Open the PreOrder Now app and go to the “Settings” section.

  2. Scroll down to “Inventory Management.”

  3. Tick the box “Enable Inventory Management.”

Once enabled, you’ll see two inventory handling options:

  • Disable preorders when the product is out of stock
This is the most popular option.

    • When inventory is above zero, the preorder button is shown.

    • When inventory reaches zero, the preorder button is hidden until stock becomes available again.

  • Enable preorders when the product is out of stock

    • When inventory is above zero, customers will see the regular add-to-cart button.

    • When inventory hits zero or below, the preorder button automatically appears.

You can also set a limit on how many units are available for preorder to prevent overselling.
