Get the Most Out of Your PreOrder Now Free Trial

Updated over 2 weeks ago

PreOrder Now helps you capture sales for out-of-stock, coming soon, or made-to-order products by letting customers preorder items directly from your Shopify store. With customizable settings and flexible options, it’s a powerful tool for boosting sales and keeping customers engaged before inventory even arrives.

During your free trial, follow this checklist to make the most of PreOrder Now:

1. Set Up Your First Preorder Product

Enable preorder for a high-demand product, great for out-of-stock or coming soon items.

Choose a specific variant if only one is available for preorder.

☐ Enable custom settings to tailor the preorder for specific variants (e.g., custom preorder messaging, discount)

☐ Set up a mixed cart warning to alert customers when they try to check out with preorder and regular items together.

☐ Enable partial payments to let customers pay a deposit upfront.

☐ Turn on preorder badges to visually highlight preorder items.

☐ Enable email notifications and set up your sender email address.

☐ Enable inventory management and choose when the preorder button should appear.

2. Customize for Your Brand

☐ Update the preorder button text to match your store’s tone (e.g., “Preorder Now,” “Reserve Yours,” etc.).

☐ Customize the preorder email template so customers know exactly what to expect.

Style your preorder badge so it looks good and clearly communicates preorder status.

3. Test on Your Store

☐ Visit the product page to confirm that the preorder button and message display correctly.

☐ Add both preorder and regular products to the cart to test the mixed cart warning.

☐ Complete a test checkout to make sure the process works smoothly.

☐ Check how the order appears in Shopify; preorders are tagged automatically.

☐ Review the email notifications to ensure they clearly explain preorder timelines and next steps.

4. Final Check: Is PreOrder Now the Right Fit for Your Store?

Was it easy to set up and customize preorders?

Does the messaging look and sound like your brand?

Can you clearly communicate preorder expectations without confusing shoppers?

Do you plan to run time-based campaigns or set automatic preorder start/end dates?

Do you want to collect partial payments or deposits for preorders?

Would upgrading to a paid plan with more features and unlimited products help your store grow?

Are you planning to scale your preorder strategy as your product catalog grows?

How Our 14-Day Free Trial Works

Access to Paid Features

  • When you start your free trial, you’ll get access to paid features for 14 days. This gives you time to explore everything the app has to offer and decide if it’s the right fit for your store before committing to a paid plan.

  • To try paid features, simply select the paid plan in the Plans section. Don’t worry, you can switch back to the Free plan anytime before the trial ends.

What Happens After 14 Days

  • Once the trial ends, your selected subscription plan will automatically begin, and billing will start based on the plan you’ve chosen.

Free Trial Limitations

One-Time Installation Offer

  • The free trial is only available on your first installation of the app. If you uninstall the app before the 14-day trial is over and reinstall it later, the trial will no longer be available.

  • We recommend making the most of the trial during your initial install to fully test the app’s capabilities.

Non-Transferable Trial Period

  • The 14-day trial can’t be paused, extended, or transferred. The original trial period remains fixed even if the app is uninstalled and reinstalled.

Following this checklist will help you explore everything PreOrder Now has to offer. If you need help while testing, our support team is always here for you.
