Why Isn’t the Preorder Cart Label Showing on the Cart Page or Order?

Updated over a month ago

If the preorder cart label isn’t appearing on the cart page or in the order, it’s usually due to one of the following issues:

Common Causes

  • The theme’s cart doesn’t support line-item properties.
PreOrder Now uses Shopify’s line-item properties to add cart labels to orders. Without this support, the labels won’t show up.

  • The product was added through a Quick Shop or Quick Buy popup.
PON isn’t currently compatible with quick shop or quick buy popups. Items added this way may skip the necessary app logic.

  • The shopper's browser is outdated or has JavaScript disabled.
PON requires JavaScript and modern browser support to function correctly.

  • The theme uses an AJAX or pop-up cart.
These types of carts often don’t support line-item properties, which prevents the cart label from appearing.

How to Fix It

We recommend reaching out to your theme developer and asking if their cart supports line-item properties. If not, request that they update the cart to include this compatibility.

You can share this Shopify guide with them: https://help.shopify.com/themes/customization/products/features/get-customization-information-for-products

If your cart does support line-item properties but the cart label still isn’t appearing, please contact our support team, and we’ll be happy to investigate.
