Why is my preorder button, badge, or banner in the wrong place or showing the wrong text?

Updated yesterday

If your preorder button, badge, or banner is appearing in the wrong place, or the wording says something unexpected, this is usually related to your theme setup, product template, app block placement, or custom text settings.

What this looks like

You might notice:

  • the preorder button appears too high or too low

  • the badge or banner is showing in the wrong section

  • the preorder element appears on some products but not others

  • the wording says something different than expected

  • the placement changes across templates

Step 1: Confirm which element is affected

First, check exactly which element is wrong:

  • preorder button

  • preorder message

  • badge

  • banner

Then check where the issue happens:

  • product pages

  • collection pages

  • only certain products

  • only one product template

This helps narrow down whether the issue is global or template-specific.

Step 2: Check your theme editor or app block placement

Open your Shopify theme editor and review where the PreOrder Now element is added.

Check that:

  • the correct app block is enabled

  • it is added to the correct section

  • it is placed where you want it

  • you are editing the correct product template

A common reason for this issue is that the app block is added to one template but not others.

Step 3: Review your preorder text settings

If the wording is wrong, check your PreOrder Now settings and confirm the correct text is set for the affected element.

Look for:

  • custom button text

  • custom badge or banner text

  • wording that may have been changed earlier

  • product-specific settings if applicable

If the settings look correct but the storefront still shows something different, your theme or another customization may be overriding the text.

Step 4: Compare products and templates

If the issue only happens on some products, compare those products with one that looks correct.

Check whether they are using:

  • a different product template

  • different theme sections

  • different app block placement

  • custom code on only some templates

This is often why the preorder element looks correct on one product but not another.

Step 5: Check for custom code or CSS changes

Custom theme code, CSS, or another app that changes the product form area can affect both placement and wording.

This is more likely if:

  • the issue started after a theme edit

  • the issue started after switching themes

  • another app was installed recently

  • the product page has custom code around the add to cart area

Still not right?

If the preorder element is still in the wrong place or showing the wrong text, contact support and send:

  • your store URL

  • the page URL where the issue appears

  • a screenshot

  • whether it happens on all products or only some

  • whether you recently changed your theme or custom code

Once we have that, we can take a closer look at whether the issue is coming from your app setup, template, or theme behavior.
