There are a few common reasons why booking numbers can differ between your PMS and Pricepoint.
Time zone differences
Some PMSs report using UTC, while Pricepoint uses the property's local time zone. This can shift which bookings appear to fall on a given date.
Some PMSs report using UTC, while Pricepoint can display data in either UTC or local time. In the Reservations Report, use the Time Zone filter to switch between Local Time and UTC, so you're comparing your PMS and Pricepoint using the same basis. (See Reservations Report for details.)
$0 bookings
Bookings with a $0 total reservation value are downloaded into Pricepoint and included by default. If you'd prefer $0 bookings to be excluded from your account entirely, this can be set up by our Support team — reach out and let us know if you'd like this applied.
Not all modifications reach Pricepoint
Some PMSs allow bookings to be deleted entirely, rather than canceled. When this happens, Pricepoint isn't notified of the deletion, so the booking will still appear in Pricepoint even though it no longer exists in the PMS.
Channel Manager connections only see routed bookings
If Pricepoint is connected via a Channel Manager rather than directly to your PMS, it will only see bookings that passed through that Channel Manager — it won't see bookings added manually in the PMS, such as walk-ins or email bookings.
Reports may summarize bookings differently
Make sure you're comparing reports that use the same date basis. Bookings can be summarized by booking date, check-in date, or stay date — and different Pricepoint reports use different defaults. For example, the Pickup Monitor shows reservations by booking date, while the Calendar shows reservations by stay date. The Reservations Report lets you choose which date type to use.
