Overview of CRM functionality in ProdPro Pipeline

Written by Jeff Impey

Your CRM is included in your Pipeline subscription — a private workspace for your team. Nobody outside your company can see your accounts, deals, contacts or notes.

What makes it different from a CRM you'd integrate with: it already knows the industry. Your deals and contacts connect to ProdPro's production data, so you can see which projects an account is attached to, who you know on them, and what changed this week — without importing anything or syncing two systems.

Accounts

The companies you do business with — studios, networks, production companies, vendors.

An account gathers everything about that relationship in one place: the deals you've had, who you know there, what you're currently delivering, and when it renews. Linking an account to a production company connects it to ProdPro's data on their slate.

Accounts can be connected to a production company record in ProdPro so you can compare a production company slate to the open deals you have.

Opportunities

A deal you're working. Opportunities move through your sales stages and carry the amount, the close date and the production it's for.

Attaching a production is the step worth taking: the opportunity then tracks that project as it changes — new dates, new crew, a status move — so your pipeline updates itself as the industry does.

Sales stages are customizable. Go to "My Team" under Account dropdown in the top navigation then "Opportunity Settings".

Contacts

The people. Contacts are what turn ProdPro's crew and company data into connections — when a production shows "3 connections," those are your contacts attached to it.

Add the people you actually know, and every production list in ProdPro starts telling you where you already have a way in.

Contacts that are connected to ProdPro Crew records power the connections so you can see who you know on upcoming projects.

Tasks

Follow-ups, attached to the record they belong to. A task on an opportunity shows on that deal; your own list is in the sidebar.

Products & Services

What you sell, named once. Services on an opportunity are picked from this list rather than typed, so a year of deals reads as one line per thing — and renewal dates roll up to the account automatically.

Using Products & Services allow for better reporting on Opportunities and the ability to filter Accounts by those that have Active services or up for Renewal.

Who sees what

By default everyone on your team sees the whole workspace. That's usually right: a shared pipeline is how people cover for each other.

Team permissions can restrict records to the people who own them. To enable Team permissions contact support@prodpro.com to enable for your account.

For small teams, or teams that want visibility across the group, we recommend using opportunity types instead of permissions.
