Workspaces: Overview

Workspaces (sub accounts, multiple domains)

Workspaces is a feature that lets you manage multiple sites under a single Promolayer account. Each workspace has its own embed tag and separate display list, keeping your sites organized and independent.

Note: Workspaces are not available for users on the Shopify, Wix, or ColorMe Shop apps, or the WordPress plugin.

How it works

Each workspace has its own unique embed tag, so when using Promolayer on multiple sites, you no longer need to manually exclude URLs in the "Which pages to show on" settings. Displays are managed separately per workspace, making it significantly easier to stay organized when handling a large number of displays.

Switching your current workspace

You can switch between workspaces to manage displays separately for each site. The Default workspace is always selected when you first start.

Click the user icon in the top right to open a dropdown menu. Hover over the "Current Workspace" item to see a list of your workspaces. Click the name of the workspace you want to switch to. Your currently active workspace is shown in bold.

Getting your embed tag

  1. Select a workspace

  2. Click "Embed Code"

  3. Copy the displayed code and embed it into your site

Moving a display to a different workspace

  1. Click "Manage"

  2. Click "Move Display"

  3. Use the dropdown to select the destination workspace — changes are saved automatically

What happens when you delete a workspace

Any displays that belonged to the deleted workspace are automatically moved to the Default workspace. The Default workspace is the one created at the start and cannot be deleted.

Selecting a Google Analytics Measurement ID (or disabling tracking)

Promolayer automatically sends events to Google Analytics, but you can control this behavior at the workspace level. This setting applies to all displays within the workspace.

By default, the setting is "Auto-detect." If data is not coming through, switch to "Specify Measurement ID" and enter your Measurement ID directly from your Google Analytics account.
