After creating a display and before publishing it to your site, you can check how it will actually look. You can also choose whether the preview appears immediately or only when it matches the trigger rules you've set.
No matter how many times you view the preview, it will not be counted as a display impression.
If you want to test in your production environment, see here => Testing on your live site
Steps to Check
Click the preview button for the target display.
Choose either Ignore rules or Follow rules, and enter the URL you want the display to appear on.
If you have set up a Promolayer embed tag, you'll need to configure it so that it also fires on the preview URL.
"Clear browser storage before opening" checkbox:
Some rules determine whether to show a display based on the user's behavior history — such as display view history, button click history, or page view history. This history data is stored in the browser's storage. By clearing that data, you can test as if you were a first-time visitor to the site.Click the preview button. If you want to test on a smartphone, you can also use the QR code. It will take you to the same URL as when you clicked the preview button.
Check the preview results. If the display would not appear in production, an orange warning screen will explain why, showing reasons such as:
The setting is in draft mode
The browser's language does not match the rule
It is outside the display's start/end period
If the display is in a state where it can appear in production, only "Promolayer Preview mode" will be shown, with no orange warning.
For Form-Type Displays
You can also enter information and test the form submission. Clicking the submit button will take you to the "Thank You" screen, so you can check how that looks as well. During testing, no list registration of the entered information, follow-up emails, or coupon creation will take place.
