How to add a Guarantor to a tenancy renewal.
If a Tenant is renewing their tenancy agreement and you require a guarantor for the new tenancy, you can easily add them to the deal. Follow the steps below to add a guarantor to a renewal.
Step 1: Ensure the Deal is a Renewal
The first step is to mark the deal as a renewal. This will ensure that the guarantor is added to the correct tenancy agreement. To do this, navigate to the deal page and make sure the tenancy type is renewal.
Step 2: Add Tenancy Details
Next, you will need to add the tenancy details for the renewal. This includes the start and end date of the tenancy, the rent amount, and any other relevant information. Once you have entered all the details, click on the "Save" button.
Step 3: Proceed to the Tenancy Control Page
After saving the tenancy details, proceed to the tenancy control page by clicking on the "Tenancy Control" button.
Step 4: Set "References done via LegalforLandlords" to No
On the tenancy control page, you will see an option for "References done via LegalforLandlords". Make sure to turn this option to "No".
This will prevent the Propoly platform from requesting references for this tenancy.
Step 5: Save the Deal
Once you have made the necessary changes, click on the "Save" button to save the deal.
Step 6: Add the Guarantor
Now, find the Guarantor(s) section on the left hand side of the page and click on the "Add+" button.
This will allow you to add a guarantor to the deal.
Step 7: Enter the Guarantor's Details
Enter all the required details for the guarantor, including their name and contact information.
Step 8: Save the Guarantor and Start the Deal
Once you have entered all the details, click on the "Save" button to add the guarantor to the deal. You can now start the deal and proceed with the renewal process.
