How can a guarantor cover multiple tenants?

If you have a guarantor that will be covering 2 or more tenants this is how to set this up on Propoly

Updated over 2 years ago

⚠️ Do not add the same applicant multiple times on a Tenancy, as this would invite the tenant to complete multiple referencing forms and you may end up being charged.

Steps to have one Guarantor cover multiple tenants

  • Click Request a guarantor against any Tenant on the referencing page of a Tenancy

  • If there are multiple tenants against this tenancy you will be asked to select which Tenants you want this guarantor to guarantee.

  • A tenant can guarantee any number of Tenants

Once you have selected which Tenants will be guaranteed by this tenant, you can also manually add the guarantor details or alternatively the Tenant will be emailed and ask to provide relevant information.

A guarantor will be asked to complete a reference (if toggled on) and be asked to sign a guarantor agreement.

When adding a guarantor ensure the following fields are provided:

  • Title

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Contact number

Want to make changes after adding a Guarantor?

  • Click on 3 dots next to the guarantor name and click edit

  • You will see a list of all Tenants the guarantor is guaranteeing.

  • You can amend this, however, please note that any changes will require the guarantor agreement to be signed again. The system will automatically ask the guarantor to re-sign once you make any changes.
