At Proton there are a few ways our labels can be featured in DJ Mixes & Compilations. These mixes & compilations help drive sales and streams for our labels, sometimes even doubling the sales or streams your track might have had on the original release.

But we understand that not everyone may want to be involved. Label Managers can opt out any time by speaking to our support team, but please read this guide first to learn about the different types of mixes & compilations at Proton.

Important: With any of Proton's mixes & compilation, the label and artists receive the same amount of royalties and earnings as they would on the original & unmixed release.  You don't earn any less when being featured in a mix or compilation.

#1 - Artist Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music
At Proton, the artists on your music label can feature your catalog in their DJ Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music, helping you increase earnings & exposure without having to do any extra work yourself:

  • Your artists can upload these mixes directly themselves on SoundSystem.

As a label manager, you can also upload DJ Mixes to Spotify & Apple Music featuring your own catalog. You can learn more about that here.

#2 - Proton's In-House Compilations & DJ Mixes
Proton also runs series of in-house compilations and DJ Mixes, like Visceral, where the compilation is sent unmixed to DJ shops like Beatport and mixed to Spotify & Apple Music. These compilations have help generated millions of streams and tens of thousands of sales for our labels.

If you want to opt out of our in-house compilations, you can choose to:

  • Option 1 - Opt out of both the unmixed releases (Beatport) and mixed releases (Spotify & Apple Music). If you select this option, your label will not be considered for any of Proton's in-house compilations.

  • Option 2 - You can opt out of just the unmixed releases on Beatport, allowing your label to still be featured in our in-house DJ Mixes on Spotify & Apple Music, but NOT having the unmixed tracks re-released on Beatport.

If you wish to opt out of Artist Mixes or the in-house Proton compilations, please contact the support team and we'll be happy to help!
