One of the most powerful ways to understand any conversation is to understand who’s having it. At Pulsar, we’ve long championed this through tools like Influencer Networks, Panel Searches, and Communities. Today, we’re excited to announce a new step forward: an official integration with StatSocial, bringing even deeper audience intelligence directly into Pulsar.
This integration enhances our audience segmentation capabilities and supports clients who already hold a StatSocial license, allowing them to apply those insights natively in Pulsar. By simply passing a list of author IDs from a search or filter, StatSocial returns a breakdown of distinct Communities within that audience. These communities can be visualised directly and used as a persistent filter within a TRAC search.
Our StatSocial integration currently supports segmentation across a variety of data sources, including TikTok and Youtube, thus opening up new ways to understand who is driving the conversation and why it matters.
Why Run a Community Report on Pulsar?
Understanding your audience goes far beyond analyzing their posts or bios; it’s also about uncovering the shared characteristics that bind groups together, and the distinctions that set them apart. That’s the power of Communities in Pulsar.
With our Communities functionality in TRAC, you can automatically cluster your audience into meaningful segments based on how they engage with a topic. This matters because not all audiences talk about the same topic in the same way. Pulsar recognizes that context and culture shape conversations, and Communities help you visualize and navigate those differences. This is where StatSocial adds another layer of depth.
Through our StatSocial integration, you can generate Community Reports from a defined audience segment. Each community returned can then be used as a filter in your TRAC search, allowing you to isolate and analyze the voices, themes, and behaviours of a specific target audience. Whether you're planning campaigns, refining messaging, or simply aiming to understand who’s shaping the narrative, our Communities functionality ensures that your analysis is audience-led, segmented, and precise.
How to Use StatSocial x Communities
If you have a StatSocial subscription, your Account Manager will just need your API key, which will allow you to connect StatSocial seamlessly to Pulsar. Once configured, whenever you navigate to the Audience Insights tab and click on Communities, you will first be presented with the overall demographic breakdown of your search, based on the current filter, as shown below.
If you are happy with the current audience presented, you can name the report and click the Segment Authors button to begin generating your Communities, using StatSocial. Segmentation takes a bit of time, as our friends at StatSocial are analyzing sometimes millions of users and their equally numerous posts, followers, and following lists. Once the segmentation is complete, you’ll see a breakdown of the Communities that make up that audience, as well as their interests and affinities.
But it doesn’t stop here; once you’ve got these Communities in place, you can do a deeper dive into them by clicking through to be taken to your report on your StatSocial dashboard. You can also use these Communities as filtering options in your search.
What’s Available With StatSocial?
