Being able to collect data historically is a fundamental aspect of TRAC, and to help ensure that your data collection is instant and hassle free, we have implemented a new Historical Auto-Approval process.

Previously, when you ordered historical data on TRAC, our team would go through your orders manually, checking your historical data requests against your usage and allowance. While we have a good track record of approving data requests quickly, we wanted to make things simpler for you, by creating a system that was smart and could automatically do all the required checks and approve your historical request automatically.

So with this new functionality, you can now get your data quickly, without the need of your Account Manager or Pulsar Support approving each and every historical data request. And with very little intervention from our team, you can quickly collect the data you need, any time of day, and any day of the week. Hurrah!

A few things about this update:

  • Firstly, this update doesn't change what you have to do when ordering historical data! The process is still the same for previewing and launching historics.

  • After previewing your data, and selecting the launch button, you'll get a confirmation pop up, allowing you to review and confirm the amount you are requesting.

  • Selecting launch historic will then result in your order being automatically approved by the system.

You can tell a historical order has been automatically approved by the system when you hover over the little info icon, next to your historical order, like so:

There are of course some limitations as to what amount of data will be automatically approved, and this is to ensure that you do not end up going above your monthly data allowance. Therefore, to ensure automatic approval, your historical order has to meet our qualifications for quick approval!

You'll be able to tell when a historic request requires further authorization by looking out for a caution sign next to your historics, as shown below:

Check out our Historical Data Authorization FAQs below to learn more about the criteria we use to decide whether or not the system will automatically approve your historical data order.
