Learn how to plug in your YouTube channels into CORE
What is Plugging In?
Plugging in a profile authorizes Pulsar to collect insights data on your behalf. Plugged-in YouTube Channels pull insights directly from your Channel Analytics on YouTube.
🚨Important: Plugging in is only available for Owned Profiles as you will need to enter the profile's login credentials.
What info can I gain by plugging in YouTube Channels?
YouTube only offers private data, so the channel must be plugged in in order to collect any YouTube data on CORE. Once plugged in, you'll be able to collect the following:
Published videos
Demographics
Video views
Comment count
Likes count
Micro engagements
Requirements
Before plugging in your YouTube channel, you'll need to make sure the following are in place:
You have a YouTube channel
🚨Important: If you are logging into YouTube via your Google account, your account may not have a channel linked.
You can check this by going to YouTube and clicking your icon in the top right corner. If you do not have a channel linked to your Google account, you'll see an option to Create a channel
You are logged into the correct account
Steps to plug in
Find the Brandset where you'd like to add the YouTube channel and enter the Brandset Settings
In the Brandset Settings, select Plugin Profiles next to the Brand name
Select Youtube
You'll be redirected to YouTube to complete the next part of the plugging-in process
Click Allow to give Pulsar access to the channel's insights
You've now successfully linked Pulsar to your YouTube channel! You'll be taken back to the CORE Brandset Settings to finish plugging in.
Select the YouTube channel you'd like to plug in and click Plugin Profile
Your YouTube channel has now been plugged into CORE and you will begin collecting private insights starting from the time when the profile was plugged in!
