Dashboards have become a major staple of the insights workflow on TRAC, giving clients the ability to customize exactly what data they want to view and share, with whom and when. Since launching the reporting feature on TRAC, we have committed to making continuous improvements to this core functionality, but one feature we had yet to offer was the ability to clone dashboards across searches, or import dashboards from other searches.

As of today we are excited to announce that TRAC now supports the ability to clone dashboards from one search to another, drastically reducing the amount of time it takes to create a dashboard from scratch. With this new capability you can now effectively reuse your best dashboards across multiple searches at the click of a button. So if you’ve been reporting on multiple brands in separate searches or have been setting up lengthy and customized dashboards across the tool, then this new functionality is just what you need!

How does this benefit you?

  • With this new capability you can now effectively reuse your best dashboards across multiple searches at the click of a button.

  • You can also now standardize your reporting across searches quickly by duplicating an already existing layout you use.

  • Ultimately, this new functionality will save you lots of time and energy when creating mass reporting across your searches on TRAC.

How to Clone an Existing Dashboard

Cloning a dashboard is straightforward and you can clone a dashboard across multiple searches, as long as the destination search or searches you have chosen to clone “to”, have not hit the maximum number of dashboards allowed in them. The current access and permission settings of a dashboard will be observed, meaning you cannot clone private dashboards, unless you’ve been specifically granted the permission to edit the dashboard by the dashboard creator.

From the Existing Dashboards page, mousing over the kebab menu will now present users with the option to clone the dashboard. Simply hit clone, choose where you want to save the cloned dashboard to, and voila!

You can also access the cloning option when you’re in an individual dashboard, as shown below.

Anything else I need to know?

This release currently supports the cloning of dashboards across single or multiple searches, but not the ability to import a dashboard from a search into your current search - this is yet to be released in a couple of weeks’ time. Unlike dashboard cloning, dashboard importing will be a new option for users when creating a dashboard to import a dashboard from another search into the search they are currently in, instead of creating it from scratch or using our existing templates. And importing the selected dashboard would import everything - the charts, the header image, the logo, and any filters the dashboard has. So do keep an eye out for this feature, coming soon on TRAC!

Looking forward to getting your feedback on this new feature and to learn more about how you're using it. Please reach out to your account manager or support team if you have any questions or feedback.
