How to Change the Display Language on Your VPS

Change the Windows display language on your VPS — install language packs and apply them per user.

You can change the Windows display language on your VPS by installing a language pack through Settings. Follow the steps below to switch the interface to your preferred language.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step #1: Log in to Your VPS

  • Use Remote Desktop (RDP) to access your VPS.

  • Enter your VPS IP, username, and password.

Step #2: Open Language Settings

  • Press Start, type Settings, and open it.

  • Navigate to:

    Time & LanguageLanguage

Step #3: Add a New Language

  • Under Preferred languages, click Add a language.

  • Search for your desired language (e.g., Spanish, German, French).

  • Click Next, then make sure Set as my display language is checked.

  • Click Install.

If a language option appears grayed out or unavailable to select, this is usually due to language-pack availability restrictions on Windows Server SKUs — not all display languages can be installed without additional language pack files from Microsoft.

Step #4: Sign Out or Restart

  • Once the language pack is installed, you'll be prompted to sign out or restart for the changes to take effect.

  • After reboot, the Windows interface will appear in your selected language.

Optional: Change Input Method or Keyboard Layout

  • Still under Time & Language → Language, select your language and click Options.

  • You can add or remove keyboard layouts as needed.
