A Tax Registration Number (TRN) is a unique 15-digit identifier assigned by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in the UAE for tax purposes. There are two main types of TRNs:
TRN Value Added Tax (VAT)
This number is used for VAT-related transactions and filings. It's essential for businesses that are required to collect and remit VAT.
TRN Corporate Tax
This number is used for corporate tax purposes and is issued to organizations liable for corporate tax on their profits.
How to Find Your TRN
Visit the FTA website: Go to eservices.tax.gov.ae.
Log in to your account: Access your personal taxpayer account on the FTA portal.
Navigate to the Taxable Person List: In the menu, go to Home > Taxable Person List.
Select your company: Choose the company of interest and click "View".
Locate your TRN: In the Registration Overview section, find your TRN/WHK No. This will display both your VAT and Corporate Tax TRNs.
If you don't have a registered account on the FTA portal, you likely don't have a TRN yet. In this case, you'll need to register. You can contact a QuickTax Accounting operator to create an account and register for obtaining a TRN.
Remember, your TRN is crucial for tax compliance in the UAE. It must be included on all tax-related documents, such as VAT returns, tax invoices, and credit notes.
Regularly verifying and using the correct TRN helps prevent fraud and ensures proper tax reporting.
