How to view earnings in QuotaPath

Updated over a week ago

In this article we'll go over the ins and outs of the 'Earnings' dashboard in QuotaPath.

Here is where Admins can drill down to view any Workspace member's earnings. This is useful for doing a deep dive of data during the onboarding process as well as the end of the period when doing payroll.

In the 'Individual' tab, select 'View as' and choose the member whose data you'd like to view.

You can use the 'Timeframe' filter to filter by deal date. The data range filters are relative filters so you can choose to view 'This month' vs. 'Last month' for example.

Note: If you have custom fiscal periods set, the system will know to filter and respect that custom fiscal date range.

Another thing to note is that on the top right of the dashboard, you'll see a green dot, which is the CRM status. This lets members and Admins know the last time the data was refreshed from your CRM.

1. The Path cards are the total earnings by Path based on whatever date range filter you've applied. So, you could view commissions from last quarter by Path.

2. The sum of all of those cards equals the 'Total Earnings.'

3. The 'Earnings Overview' chart shows the make up of those earnings. Here is where you'll be able to view that data as a percentage. For example, 97% of your earnings is coming from the 'Monthly Commission' Path.

4. The main graph shows earnings over time. You have the option for how you can view the data in terms of time period. You can view by Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually, if you want to see commissions broken out on a week to week basis, etc.

If you hover over the bars in the graph, it will show the makeup of your commissions from that time period by Path.

You'll also notice that there's color coding to help you connect the dots on what Path you're looking at. Each Path has its own color and those pull down into the Deals table, making each Path easy to recognize.

If you scroll down, you'll see the Deals table. Deals are grouped together by stage: 'Closed/Won,' 'Pipeline,' and 'Closed/Lost.' This is standard terminology we use in QuotaPath.

In the Deals table, you'll see deals organized by deal record.

  • Date: The date that the commission is earned.

  • Locked: Only applicable for deals that have been manually added to QuotaPath. Locking deals makes it so only Admins can edit those deals.

  • Source: This indicates where the data is coming from, whether they are manually added, coming from an API, or CRM integration.

  • Deals: The deal name.

  • Field names: These are dynamic field names that are set up when you're building plans. These will be different depending on who are you looking up and how their comp plans are set up.

  • Rate: This is the effective rate, which is not necessarily a 1:1 ratio of commission rates in a plan. Because there are multiple things earning commissions off of this one deal, this shows the overall commission rate. It's a weighted average rate of each Path a deal is applied to.

  • Earned: The total earnings from that deal.

You can also drill down into each deal, which we call the Earnings Detail View. We write all about this in another article, which you can find here.
