How to create teams in QuotaPath for Admins

Updated over a week ago

In this article, we'll walk through how to create a team in your QuotaPath workspace. Creating teams in a workspace can only be done by Admins. By creating a Team, Team Managers and Admins can view a rollup of team earnings, individual quotas, quota attainment %, and attainment. Members will only be able to see the attainment value for the team members.

First, head to the Teams page. From there, you can either quickly create a team from users assigned to the same plan by clicking the dropdown arrow and selecting 'Create from plan', or you can create a team from users assigned to multiple plans by selecting '+ Create Team':

1. Streamlined Create Team from Plan

After choosing 'Create from plan' on the Teams page, select which plan to create a team from and then choose the path, shared field or shared quota to use for the attainment leaderboard in the team. If you would like to see the quota values in your attainment leaderboard, you will need to select a shared quota as the source for your leaderboard.

Next, give your team a name and choose a team color!

From there, choose whether you'd like to add managers to the team or start viewing your attainment leaderboard. If you choose to add managers, this will give the team managers visibility into this team.

You can add multiple managers to a team. Only users with a role of Team Manager or Admin will appear in the list. Admins will be able to view all teams by default.

Last, set the permission level for each team manager. Click 'Learn More' for more detail into the permission level. The permission levels are:

  • Full:

    • Approve Team Deals

    • + Everything in Standard

  • Standard

    • View Team Earnings

    • View Team Plans

    • Create Attainment Leaderboards

    • View, edit & search for Team Deals

    • Flag, comment & resolve Team Flags

    • + Everything in Limited

  • Limited

    • View Team Attainment

After you've finished adding managers, you can edit the Attainment Leaderboard to add a Team Goal, navigate to the Earnings or Attainment pages to start viewing team earnings and attainment, or check out this article on how to add more attainment leaderboards!

2.Create Team from Multiple Plans

After choosing '+ Create Team' on the Teams page, in the pop-up modal use the 'Select by plan' dropdown to choose the plan that you'd like to create a team from.

After selecting the plan, those users will be automatically selected.

From there, you can select additional users to add to this team.

After selecting all the users, click 'Next'. To finish setting up the team, enter in a team name, and choose a team color.

After the team has been created, you'll have the option to add team managers or create an attainment leaderboard. If you choose to add managers, this will give the team managers visibility into this team. Let's look at creating an attainment leaderboard first, which is required to view the team's earnings and attainment.

Start creating the leaderboard by defining the attainment field to measure team performance. Enter in a attainment field name and choose the field type. Next, use the dropdown under 'Add leaderboard source' to definite the data source for all team members. The dropdown will preview the number of team members associated with each plan.

After selecting a plan to define the data source for, choose the path, shared field or shared quota to use for the attainment leaderboard in the team. If you would like to see the quota values in your attainment leaderboard, you will need to select a shared quota as the source for your leaderboard.

If not all team members are assigned to the same plan for the data source, select '+ Add source' to add the data source for the remaining team members. From there, repeat the same process of choosing the plan and path, shared field, or shared quota.

After defining the data sources, click 'Next'. To finish setting up the leaderboard, use the toggle to choose whether you'd like to set up a team goal.

Similar to a quota in a plan, a team goal can stay the same or change over time. Choose the quota type and then enter the quota values and quota timeframe.

Last, select 'Attainment index settings' if you would like to customize the attainment tiers associated with each color coding to designate quota attainment.

Click 'Save' to finish setting up the attainment leaderboard. From there, select the 'Managers' tab and click 'Add managers' to add team managers, which will give the team managers visibility into this team.
