Three Ways to Measure

Mouse Mode: drop pins by hand to outline any surface. Full control for odd shapes, partial sections, mulch beds, and anything else.
Linear Mode: two-point straight lines with real-time perimeter, built for gutter runs, fence lines, and walkway edges.
AI Mode: tap the AI button, choose Lawn, Roof, or Concrete, and QuoteIQ traces the boundary for you in about 15 to 30 seconds. Every trace is editable. See AI Measurement for the full guide.

Manual Measurement Walkthrough

Step 1: Start a New Estimate

From your Dashboard, click Estimates Tab in the top navigation bar.
Click "+ Create Estimate" in the top right corner.
Select/Create your customer, then click Next
Select Your Service

Step 2: Launch MapMeasure Pro

Click the MapMeasure Pro icon located within the service selection screen.

Step 3: Outline the property

Once MapMeasure Pro opens:

A satellite view of the property will load.
Drop pins to outline the surface you want to measure.

Measure by Square Foot, Linear Footage, Square Meter, or Linear Meter

You have two options for dropping pins:

Mouse Mode ON: Tap to drop pins directly.
Mouse Mode OFF: Drag the map to move a crosshair and drop pins precisely.

Step 4: View Measurements

As you pin the outline:

Total Area and Perimeter are displayed in the top left corner.

Step 5: Customize Your Map Outline (Optional)

Click the Map Settings tab (top right corner) to:

Change marker color
Adjust polygon fill color and opacity
Modify border color and border width

You can reset your map settings to defaults at any time.

Step 6: Save Measurements to Estimate

When you're satisfied:

Click Save To Estimate (located in the top left corner).

Your measurements will automatically apply to the estimate, and the price will be calculated using your default pricing settings.

Step 7: (Optional) Use Linear Measurement Mode

If you need to measure straight-line distances, such as gutter runs, fence lines, or walkway edges:

Go to the Map Settings tab.

Toggle ON Linear Mode.

Helpful Tip: Default pricing settings control how MapMeasure Pro calculates the final estimate price. You can edit your default pricing under Service List before using MapMeasure Pro for jobs.

AI Measurement

Instead of hand-drawing the outline, tap the AI button, choose Lawn, Roof, or Concrete, and QuoteIQ traces the surface for you from satellite imagery in about 15 to 30 seconds. Every AI trace is fully editable: drag pins or add new ones until the outline matches. Each trace uses IQ Credits.

Which plans include MapMeasure Pro?

MapMeasure Pro is included on Beginner, Pro, Elite, and Max plans. It is not available on Essentials.

Does measuring use IQ Credits?

Manual measuring with pins and Linear Mode is included with your plan. The AI tools (AI Measurement) and Property Lines use IQ Credits from your monthly allocation.
