What Is AI Measurement?

AI Measurement is the auto-trace tool inside MapMeasure Pro. Instead of hand-drawing a measurement area pin by pin, you tap the AI button, choose the surface type you want measured, and QuoteIQ traces the boundary for you from satellite imagery. The trace runs on its own and usually takes about 15 to 30 seconds, depending on the size and complexity of the property.

Every AI trace is fully editable. Drag any pin to a new position or add new pins until the outline matches the property exactly, then apply your pricing to the measured area.

How to Use AI Measurement

Open MapMeasure Pro from an estimate or from your tools.
Enter the property address so the satellite view loads.
Tap the AI button.
Choose the surface type: Lawn, Roof, or Concrete.
QuoteIQ places an outline around the surface and measures it. This usually takes about 15 to 30 seconds.
Adjust the result if needed: drag existing pins to the right spots, or add new pins to refine the outline.
Apply your pricing to the measured area and keep building your estimate.

The Three Surface Types

Lawn: traces grass and turf areas for mowing, treatments, seeding, and lawn care bids.
Roof: traces the roof outline for roofing, gutters, soft washing, and other exterior work. For pitch and true roof surface area, pair it with Roof & Pitch Measurement.
Concrete: traces concrete surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, and patios for pressure washing, sealing, and concrete work.

Good to Know

AI only runs when you tap it. Nothing measures automatically in the background. You choose when to run a trace and which surface type to trace.
Concrete is one category. The AI cannot automatically tell a driveway apart from a sidewalk. If you only want part of the traced concrete, drag or remove pins to trim the outline, or measure that section manually.
Mulch beds and landscape beds are not detected. Trace those with the manual pin tools instead.
Manual mode is always available. AI Measurement is an accelerator on top of MapMeasure Pro's manual measurement toolset. For odd shapes, partial sections, or anything the AI misses, drop pins by hand on the same screen.
Each AI trace uses IQ Credits from your plan's monthly allocation.

AI Measurement traces the outline of lawns, roofs, and concrete surfaces to give you the measured area. Roof & Pitch Measurement analyzes roof slope and calculates pitch and roof surface area. Roofers often use both together: trace the roof with AI Measurement, then run Roof & Pitch for slope and true surface area.
