What AI Smart Import Can Import

AI Smart Import works for two types of data:

Contacts / Customers — Import your entire customer database from another CRM. Names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, and other fields are automatically mapped.
Services / Price Book — Import your service list and pricing from another CRM. Service names, descriptions, pricing, and categories are automatically detected and mapped into your QuoteIQ Price Book.

How AI Smart Import Works

Export from your current CRM — Download your contacts or services as a CSV file from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, or whatever platform you're currently using. Every CRM has an export option — check their help docs or settings if you're unsure how.
Open Import in QuoteIQ — For contacts: go to Contacts → Import Contacts. For services: go to Price Book → Import Services.
Click "Smart Import" — You'll see the AI Smart Import option highlighted at the top of the import screen with a purple banner. Click the ✨ Smart Import button.
Upload your CSV — Select any CSV file with your data. The screen shows your current IQ Credits balance. Click Choose CSV File and select your export file.
AI maps your data — QuoteIQ's AI automatically detects the column names from your old CRM and maps them to QuoteIQ's fields. No manual column matching needed.
Review and confirm — Check the mapping, make any adjustments if needed, and confirm. Your data is imported into QuoteIQ.

That's it. What used to take an hour of spreadsheet reformatting now takes about 2 minutes.

Manual CSV Import (Alternative)

If you prefer not to use AI Smart Import, you can also import manually. The import screen shows both options:

AI Smart Import (top, highlighted) — AI maps your columns automatically. Uses IQ Credits.
Manual CSV Upload (below) — You format your CSV to match QuoteIQ's exact template, then upload. No IQ Credits used, but requires manual formatting work.

The manual import also includes a "How it works" sidebar with step-by-step instructions specific to your source CRM (e.g., "Export from Jobber → Upload file → Review & Import").

Phone Address Book Import

You can also import contacts directly from your phone's address book. From the Contacts tab, tap the import option and select your phone contacts. QuoteIQ pulls in names, phone numbers, and email addresses from your device.

FAQs

Does AI Smart Import work with any CRM?

Yes. As long as your old CRM can export data as a CSV file, AI Smart Import can read it. It works with Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Service Fusion, Markate, The Customer Factor, and any other platform that exports CSV.

Can I import both contacts AND services?

Yes. AI Smart Import works for both your customer database (contacts) and your service list / price book. Import them separately — contacts through the Contacts tab, services through the Price Book tab.

Does AI Smart Import use IQ Credits?

Yes. AI Smart Import uses IQ Credits to process the AI column mapping. Your current IQ Credits balance is displayed on the Smart Import screen before you upload. The manual CSV import option does not use IQ Credits.

What if the AI maps a column incorrectly?

You can review and adjust the mapping before confirming the import. If a column was mapped to the wrong field, you can correct it manually in the review step.

Do I need to reformat my CSV file before uploading?

No — that's the whole point. AI Smart Import reads whatever column names and format your old CRM uses and maps them automatically. The manual import option requires exact formatting; AI Smart Import does not.
