Group Texting for Web & Mobile

How to Start and Manage Group Conversations

Updated this week

Overview

Group Messaging allows you to start multi-contact text conversations directly from the Radius platform. You can create group threads from the Messages inbox or directly from a client profile, making it easy to coordinate with buyers, sellers, and their family members all in one place.

Key Benefits

  • Communicate with multiple clients simultaneously from one thread

  • Add new or existing contacts to a group conversation on the fly

  • Attach files, photos, and videos directly in the chat

  • Start group conversations from client profiles when family members are linked

  • Easily manage participants β€” add or remove contacts at any time

Method 1: Start a Group Message from the Messenger

Use this method when you want to start a group thread from scratch with any combination of contacts.

Steps:

  1. In the left-hand navigation, select Messages.

  2. Click New Message.

  3. Type the name of a contact from your database to add them to the thread. Repeat to add additional participants.

  4. If you want to add someone who is not in your database, type their phone number directly and press Enter.

  5. When prompted, choose one of the following options:

    • Add as an Existing Client β€” link the number to a contact already in your database

    • Create a New Client β€” add this person as a new contact

    • Start Conversation β€” begin messaging without saving to the database

  6. Once your participants are added, type your message. You can also send emojis, or attach files, videos, or photos using the attachment button.

πŸ’‘ Tip: You can mix database contacts and phone numbers in the same group thread β€” great for including someone not yet in your CRM.

Method 2: Start a Group Message from a Client Profile

Use this method when a client has a linked family member or relationship in their profile. This is a fast way to loop in multiple related contacts without searching for them individually.

Requirements:

  • The client must have a family member or related contact linked in their profile

  • Both the client and the linked contact must have a valid phone number on file

Steps:

  1. Go to Clients and open the client's profile.

  2. In the top right corner, click the Message button.

  3. Select Group Message from the dropdown.

  4. Give the group conversation a name.

  5. If the client has multiple linked family members, you will see all of them listed. Select or deselect participants using the checkboxes.

  6. Click Start Conversation.

  7. Your new group thread will appear in the Messages inbox on the left, labeled with the group name you assigned.

πŸ“‹ Note: If you want to exclude a family member from the thread, simply uncheck their name before starting the conversation.
