There are two separate places to record freeform text about a contact: the Bio field on the contact profile, and interaction notes. They serve different purposes and are stored differently.
Bio field
The Bio field is a profile-level text field that describes the contact. It persists on the contact record and is visible whenever you open that profile.
To add or edit a bio:
Open the contact's profile page.
If no bio exists, click + Add bio in the activity area below the contact's details.
If a bio already exists, click on the bio text to enter edit mode.
Type or paste your text. The field accepts multiple lines.
Click Save (or press Cmd+Enter / Ctrl+Enter).
The bio appears on the contact's profile and is preserved across sessions.
Interaction notes
An interaction note is attached to a specific logged interaction, such as a call, meeting, or touchpoint. Unlike the bio, a note is timestamped and appears in the contact's interaction history alongside the call disposition, pledge, or other details from that interaction.
To add a note:
Open the contact's profile page.
In the middle column, locate the text area with the placeholder Add your note....
Type your note. You can also select a call disposition and add a pledge amount in the same panel.
Click Save Interaction (or press Cmd+Enter / Ctrl+Enter).
The note is saved as part of that interaction record and appears in the contact's history log below.
Which one to use
Use the Bio field for background information about the contact that should always be visible, such as relationship context, giving history summary, or background research. Use interaction notes to record what happened during a specific call or meeting.
