There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google. Google does their best to keep the exacty search algorithm details confidential, to make the ranking system as fair as possible for everyone.

Google considers many factors when choosing it's top 3 Businesses.

  1. Recency of Google reviews

  2. How relevant the business is to the words you have searched

  3. Google review average

  4. Google uses 3rd party reviews as well! ie RateMyAgent's own reviews

  5. Google Business optimization: having recent activity shows Google your GBP is being maintained, therefore more likely that the details are all up to date. Google Posts contribute to this.

  6. Distance: Google prioritizes businesses that are closer to the user's location.

  7. Google also looks at how prominant your business is online, from your agency website, social media pages, links, articles, if you appear in directories (like RateMyAgent).

Your position in web results is also a factor, so search engine optimization (SEO) best practices apply. (RateMyAgent reviews have their own unique page/URL so each and every review is contributing to your SEO!)

Tip 1: Edit your business information (similar to a bio) to include relevant key words people might use to find your business.

Tip 2: Ensure your agency's name, address & contact information is idential across all platforms for maximum SEO benefits.
