RealMeeting is Reality Defender's real-time deepfake detection app for Microsoft Teams. It scans meeting participants for signs of AI-generated video or voice, so you can trust who you're really talking to in high-stakes conversations like interviews, leadership discussions, and sensitive external calls.
Follow the steps below to get RealMeeting up and running for your organization.
Step 1: Get a Reality Defender Account with RealMeeting Access
Before you can use RealMeeting, your organization needs an active Reality Defender account with RealMeeting enabled.

Step 2: Confirm Your RealMeeting Settings
Before your users can scan participants in Teams meetings, an administrator needs to enable access and review the RealMeeting settings in the Reality Defender web app.
Enable user access
On the Team page, turn on RealMeeting for each user who needs it. Users must have accepted their invite to your Reality Defender organization first, and their Microsoft Teams email address must match their Reality Defender account email.
Review the RealMeeting settings
Go to Settings > RealMeeting to review or change these settings.
Setting | Default | What it does |
In-meeting consent message | Off | Shows participants a consent message in the meeting chat. They must accept before scanning can proceed. |
Delete files after analysis | Off | Deletes the detection sample captured for each participant once the scan completes. |
Scan retries | Off | Automatically rescans a participant flagged as Manipulated to minimize false positives. |
Retry count | 3 | The number of times (1-5) a flagged participant is rescanned. Applies only when Scan retries is on. |
Step 3: Install the RealMeeting App in Microsoft Teams
The app is installed once for your Microsoft 365 organization by a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator. It covers uploading the app package in the Teams admin center, granting admin consent for the permissions RealMeeting needs, and making the app available to your users.
