RealMeeting is Reality Defender's real-time deepfake detection app for Microsoft Teams. It scans meeting participants for signs of AI-generated video or voice, so you can trust who you're really talking to in high-stakes conversations like interviews, leadership discussions, and sensitive external calls.
Follow the steps below to get RealMeeting up and running for your organization.
Step 1: Get a Reality Defender Account with RealMeeting Access
Before you can use RealMeeting, your organization needs an active Reality Defender account with RealMeeting enabled.

Already have a Reality Defender account? Great — continue to Step 2 to confirm your settings are configured correctly.
Step 2: Confirm Your RealMeeting Settings
If your organization already has a Reality Defender account, an administrator needs to make sure a few settings are in place before end users can start using RealMeeting in Teams meetings.
An admin should log in to the Reality Defender web app (app.realitydefender.ai) and check the following:
Enable user access: On the Team page, toggle on Video Call App for each user who needs RealMeeting access. Users must have already accepted their invite to your Reality Defender org for this toggle to work, and their Microsoft Teams email address must match their Reality Defender account email.
(Optional) In-meeting consent message: Under Settings > RealMeeting, admins can turn on an in-meeting consent message. When enabled, participants are notified in the meeting chat that an automated agent is scanning for signs of AI manipulation, and can respond Yes/No before scanning begins.
If you're an end user rather than an admin, you shouldn't need to configure anything yourself beyond installing the app in Step 3 — your admin handles account-level setup. If RealMeeting doesn't appear as an option in Teams, check with your internal IT or security team first.
Step 3: Install the RealMeeting App in Microsoft Teams
Once your account and settings are ready, the app needs to be installed for your Microsoft 365 organization. This is typically a one-time setup step performed by a Teams admin, and covers:
Locating your Microsoft 365 Tenant ID
Connecting your tenant to the Reality Defender plugin
Uploading the app package via the Teams Admin Center
Testing the plugin in a live meeting
