Overview of Desktop Editing

Realync's Desktop Editing feature enables, editing capabilities, seamless collaboration, and efficient video content management.

Whether on desktop or mobile, users can leverage its functionalities to create and refine engaging video content effortlessly. This functionality expands editing capabilities beyond just mobile devices, offering greater flexibility and control over video content. Here's an overview guide to mastering the Desktop Editing feature in Realync:

Navigating the Video Library

Accessing Video Library:

  1. Upon logging into Realync, click on the "Videos" tab. This will take you to the "Video Library" that will display two tabs: "Published" and "Draft." By default, users land on the "Published" tab.

  2. Published Tab: Once a video is published the video will reside here.

  1. Draft Tab: All videos either reverted from Published to Draft state or saved as Draft for future edits reside here.

Editing Videos

  1. Accessing Editing Tools: To edit an existing video, click the ellipses in the top right corner of the video card and select “Edit Video.”

  2. Editing Interface: The left menu allows editing video and segment attributes. The player window in the center facilitates clip-level changes.

3. Clip-Level Edits: Scroll to "Edit Video Segments," click on a clip, and utilize various editing options like trimming, adjusting brightness, adding captions, and previewing clips.

4. Saving Edits: Click “Save as Draft” to preserve changes or “Publish Video” to finalize edits and publish the video. Your video will then appear in the appropriate tab in the Video Library.

Managing Collaborative Edits

  • If another user is currently editing a video, identifiable by a lock icon, you can view their activity details and, upon confirmation, take control of editing the video.

Using the Mobile App

  • The mobile app experience remains largely unchanged, with an added ability to take control of ongoing edits. Saving drafts stores clips in the Realync database, freeing up device memory.

  1. Caption Text & Clip Name: Caption Text doubles as the Clip Name on desktop.

  2. Moving Caption Text: Caption placement on Desktop is limited. For different positions, edit on mobile.

  3. Processing State: After saving or publishing, some videos enter a processing state briefly before finalization.

  4. Published Video Share Links: Share links remain functional even if the video is in an edit state. Republishing updates shared versions automatically.

  5. Undoing Unwanted Changes: To undo accidental changes, use the Undo function.
