Editing on More than One Device

Are you trying to edit a teammate's video and having trouble?

Updated over a week ago

Hey there Realync Rockstar! 🌟 Here is a pro tip about multiple people editing a video that will save you time from encountering some issues!

Unpublished videos are saved on your device and therefore cannot be seen from other devices or your web login. An unpublished video saved as a draft is saved in Realync. To allow your team to help edit your video, simply publish the video or save the video as a draft, and BE SURE to leave the app open during the uploading process and for several minutes afterward.

Once published or saved as draft, your teammate can access the video from their device.

Taking Control of Another User’s Edits

Occasionally, you may want to edit a video that shows another user is currently editing this. When another user is editing a video, you’ll see either a mobile device or desktop icon with a lock. To see who is editing the video, click the initials icon on the card, or click the ellipses on the video card. You’ll see the Realync user who is editing, the device being used, and a date/time stamp of their most recent active edit.

1) From here, you will be able to take control of editing a video. If you wish to take control of a video currently edited by another user, we recommend pausing and verifying with the other user whether they have finished editing the video or not.

3) Once you select "Continue & Take Control" you will be moved to "edit video". The menu card on the left side of the editing modal allows you to edit video-level and segment-level attributes. The player window in the center of your screen will allow you to make clip-level changes.
