How the Rechargly and FYI Integration Works

Overview

Rechargly puts each client's software costs into FYI as disbursements on a job, so you can invoice clients for Xero, Dext, MYOB and other subscriptions directly from FYI, alongside the rest of your work.

What the integration does

Rechargly reads your client and job lists from FYI and matches them to the clients you have already mapped in Rechargly. For each mapped client, you choose how the job is handled:

  • Let Rechargly create a job in FYI to hold that client's software disbursements, or

  • Point Rechargly at an existing FYI job you manage yourself.

Rechargly then pushes each software charge to that job as a disbursement. The cost sits in your work in progress against the client, ready to bill from FYI in your normal billing run.

What Rechargly does not touch

Rechargly does not create, upload or file any documents in FYI, and it does not read or modify any document, email or custom field data. It reads your client and staff records only to match clients and fill its own pickers, and never modifies them.

Xero Practice Manager or FYI as your source of truth

In FYI, your practice sets a Practice Management source, either Xero Practice Manager (XPM) or FYI. This decides which Rechargly integration you should use.

  • If XPM is your source of truth, and you have not moved to FYI as your Practice Management source, keep using Rechargly's Xero Practice Manager integration. Your practice data continues to flow from XPM into FYI.

  • If FYI is your source of truth, available on the FYI Elite plan with FYI selected as your Practice Management source, use Rechargly's FYI integration. Rechargly then relies solely on FYI and does not integrate with XPM.

Use the Rechargly integration that matches your Practice Management source in FYI, so your software costs sync from the right place.
