Zapier

Updated over 3 months ago

Zapier is an automation services. It allows you to create workflows (called zaps) that connect applications together. Using Zapier, you can create workflows based on specific actions (triggers). For example, you can have a workflow so that every time a new member is added to Core, it triggers an action to send the member information to constant contact or your preferred email marketing tool. Under the hood, the Zapier triggers and actions use our API

Our Zapier integration is not public. You can create a free account at Zapier and use the link below to add the Core integration to your account:

Create API Credentials

Zapier will need its own set of credentials to pull data out of Core. Someone with the permissions Manage Roles should create an API role that can access the API and then create a user for Zapier in the API role with the set of capabilities needed.

  • Role: API (with the capability to access the system and the API).

  • User: Zapier (on the API role with the specific capabilities it will need. Like get_members)

Available Triggers

Below is a list of available triggers you'll be able to use to automate workflows for your association. Let us know if there is a trigger you don't see that you'd like to use.

  • New Member

  • Disabled Member

  • New Unit

  • Updated Member

  • Program Registration

  • Member Check-in

  • Terminated Unit

  • Reactivated Unit

Setting up a Workflow (Zap)

  1. Typically the zap will begin with a trigger from Core:

  2. Next, you'll have to give Zapier the credentials that it will be using to pull data out of Core. Credentials are case sensitive.

  3. Enter the details for the triggers. Different triggers will have different options. Depending on the trigger and what you will do with the data, you might need to fill out the other options. The most important part of the details of the trigger is to enter the Association Slug. This is typically the word before .recliquecore.com on the URL of your association.

  4. Test your trigger. When you test, Zapier will pull sample data from Core for you to see what data is coming through. If there are any issues, verify the data entered on steps 1-3. Also, feel free to bubble us if you have questions.

  5. Add Actions. These are the next steps of what to do with the data, and the possibilities are endless. Add to the mailing list, send an email, send a text message, add to Google Docs, etc. Setting up the action is similar to setting up the triggers, and you will be available to test it as well.

  6. Make sure you name your zap and enable it when you are ready!
