Kiosk Mode

Updated over 4 months ago

Organizations can set a computer or tablet to work in Kiosk mode. This will set allow members to look themselves up using their barcode and then do all of the functions that they would be able to do online. Overall, the Kiosk mode provides a way to offer self-service access to the most common account workflows without requiring the members/participants to know their username & password or even have an online account set up on their unit in Core.

Kiosk mode can be set up using one of two options:

  • A tablet and a barcode/QR code scanner that connects to the tablet.

  • More of a computer type setup with a touchscreen monitor, a Raspberry Pi device and a barcode/QR code scanner.

To enter kiosk mode go to: [siteslug.recliquecore.com]/core/apps/kiosk/

Once the system is set to kiosk mode, staff will not be able to exit out until going to a special URL.

Make a note of this URL so you can get out of kiosk mode: [siteslug.recliquecore.com]/core/?unlockDashboard=true

There are two options too include a Custom Idle Timer on the Kiosk:

  • Use the Association Setting under Access

  • Load kiosk mode using the link provided above then add the following to the end of the URL: [siteslug.recliquecore.com]/?CustomTimeOut=X

Replace X with the number of seconds of inactivity before the member is logged out and redirected to the start page. The chosen number will be used on this machine and browser until a new value is provided using the same process.

To remove the timer and use the association default, simply perform the same steps as above, replacing X with -1.

By default, kiosk mode only allows members to register for programs that are available online. If you would like to allow members to use kiosk mode to register for programs that are not available online, you can add ?ShowOffline=1 to the end of the URL. To return to the default behavior, you can add ?ShowOffline=0 to the end of the URL.

Staff can reach out to our support staff for questions and guidance on set up.
