Add images to your abandoned cart email template

Entice customers to come back in-store and complete their purchase through product images.

Why include product images?

Images can be the winning difference between a conversion and no sale at all - and everyone knows, great product photography sells! This is a great way to remind a customer of what they want and entice them to come back and complete their purchase.


Before you get started

Here are some key details to note before getting started with image blocks:

  • Recommended image sizes:

    • Email header image:500px wide

    • Logo:125px high


Add an image to your email template via an image block

1. In your RecoverMyCart app admin, go to Abandoned Cart Emails.

2. Click on the email you wish to edit (Recovery Email 1, Recovery Email 2, or Recovery Email 3) and click on the edit email design button to open up the email editor.

3. Drag and drop in the image block into the desired location in your email template.

4. Click into your image block to open the image block editor.

5 In the Content column on the right, under Image, drag-and-drop an image from your computer or click Upload Image and select your image.

6. In the Content column on the right, under the Image section you can adjust the following settings:

  • Apply effects & more –Customize the image size, crop or apply effects
    (see Edit your image using the image editor below for more details).

  • Image URLSpecifies where the image is saved. You can also paste an external URL to load an image.

  • Full WidthAdjust the image to automatically fill the entire area of the content block. The recommended image size for the article is500px wide.

  • Alt TextAdd text that should be displayed when images are turned off. This is a best practice in email design as there may be customers who have images turned off by default.

7. In the Content column on the right, under the Action section you can adjust the following settings:

  • URLAdd a link to your image

  • Link Open Settings(optional) –choose how the link opens; in a new tab or in the same tab.

8. Under the General section, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Container padding– how much empty space is around the block. Clicking More Options allows you to adjust padding for each side individually.

Repeat the above steps to add more images to your email template.


Edit your image using the image editor

You can use the image editor to resize, crop, or apply effects to your image.

1. Click on the Image content block in your email template.

2. In the Content column on the right, under the Image section, click Apply Effects

3. The Image Editor will automatically open:

4. In the Image editor you can adjust the following settings:

  • Filter

  • Resize – Update the size of the image in your email template

  • Crop

  • Transform

  • Draw

  • Text

  • Shapes

  • Stickers

  • Frames

  • Corners

  • Background

  • Merge
