Point out exactly what matters on a photo. Circle damage, draw an arrow to a problem, or add a note right on the image, so your crew and customers know what they're looking at.
Mark up a photo
Open the photo.
Tap the markup icon, the pen icon at the left of the row of icons at the bottom.
Pick a tool from the toolbar on the right side of the photo.
Choose a color, then draw or place your mark on the photo.
Add as many marks as you need, then tap Done. To leave without saving, tap Discard.
The markup tools
Tool | What it does |
Rotate | Turns the photo |
Crop | Trims the photo to the part you want |
Text | Adds a text label. Tap it to edit, and you can set the text size |
Draw | Freehand pen. You can set the stroke size |
Arrow | Draws an arrow that points at something |
Square and Circle | Outlines an area |
Line | Draws a straight line |
Connected line | Draws a line with several points, like an outline around an area |
Tip: There are 8 colors to choose from. Tap a mark you've drawn to move it, resize it, copy it, or delete it.
Save your edit
When you tap Done, RelayCam asks how to save:
Choice | What happens |
Edit the same | Replaces the original photo. The photo keeps its comments, notes, and tags. You'll see "Photo updated." |
Make a copy | Keeps the original and saves your marked-up version as a new photo. You'll see "Saved as new photo." |
The copy keeps the same tags, description, and location as the original.
Go back to the original and undo edits
If you replaced a photo and want the unmarked version back, open the photo, tap the menu (⋮), and tap Revert to Original. Then tap Revert to confirm. The marked-up version is deleted, and the comments, notes, and tags stay.
Don't see Revert to Original? It only appears when RelayCam still has the original photo. If you want to keep the original for sure, choose Make a copy when you save.
Who can mark up photos
