Add descriptions, tags, and markup to photos

Add descriptions, tags, markup and comments to your photos on mobile and web.

Written by Rhet Porter

Add context to your photos so your team and customers know exactly what they're looking at. Notes and tags also help RelayCam's AI write better Daily Logs and Project Updates. Here's where to find each option, with a step-by-step article for every one.

Add a description

A description is a short note on a photo, like "Water damage behind kitchen sink." On mobile, Quick Caption pops up a caption box after each photo so you can type or dictate it right away. On the web, open a photo and add the description in the panel beside it.

Add tags

Tags group and filter photos, for example "Before," "Damage," or "Roof." Set tags in the camera to tag every photo you take, tag a single photo, or tag several at once.

Mark up and edit

Draw circles and arrows, add text, crop, or rotate a photo, then save over the original or as a copy.

Comment on a photo or project

Start a conversation with your team on a single photo or on the whole project, and @mention a teammate to notify them.
