How is Rentmigo different from having a family member as my guarantor?

How Rentmigo compares to asking a family member or friend to be your guarantor.

Written by Joe Wigoder

A traditional guarantor is usually a family member or friend who agrees to pay your rent if you can't. With Rentmigo, we act as your guarantor instead.

The key differences

  • Nobody close to you takes on your rent. Your family and friends don't sign anything or become legally responsible for your rent.

  • No UK guarantor needed. Many landlords require a UK-based guarantor. Rentmigo is UK-based, so this is no longer a problem.

  • One-off fee for 3 years. You pay once, and there are no yearly renewal charges.

  • Fast decisions. Most applications are decided within 24 to 48 hours once we have everything we need.

Can my family still help?

Yes. If you're eligible, you can use family support, where a family member's savings help show you can afford the rent. Unlike a traditional guarantor, they don't sign anything and aren't responsible for your rent.
