Overview
Your RepeatMD app uses Stripe Connect to process patient purchases and deposit net funds to your practice bank account. When you change banks or open a new business account, update your payout details in Stripe Express. This does not change how patients pay in the app — only where Stripe sends your payouts.
This article is for practice owners, managers, and billing admins responsible for Stripe Connect payout settings.
Before You Start
This applies to patient payment payouts (Stripe Connect), not your RepeatMD platform subscription. For subscription billing, see Update your payment method in Stripe (Admin Panel).
Use the email address tied to your RepeatMD Stripe Connect account.
Have your new bank account details ready:
US practices: routing number and account number
Canadian practices: transit number, institution number, and account number
Canadian practices: Stripe payouts require a bank account. Debit cards are not supported for Connect payouts in Canada.
If you have not finished initial Stripe setup, complete that first in Set up your Stripe account (Admin Panel).
Why It Matters
An outdated or closed bank account causes failed payouts and delays reconciling patient revenue. Updating payout details before switching accounts keeps membership renewals, in-app purchases, and Affirm disbursements flowing to the correct account.
How It Works
Stripe Express login: RepeatMD Stripe Connect accounts are managed through Stripe Express at connect.stripe.com/express_login. You update payout details there — not in the RepeatMD Admin Panel billing UI.
What changes vs. what does not: Updating your bank account changes future payout destinations only. It does not refund or reverse past transactions, change patient checkout behavior, or update your RepeatMD subscription payment method.
Verification: Stripe may verify the new account before the next payout. Payout timing follows Stripe’s standard schedule (typically 2–3 business days for card payments, plus bank processing time).
Pending payouts: Payouts already in flight to your old account may still deposit there. Confirm with your bank before closing the old account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open Stripe Express
Enter the email address you use with your RepeatMD Stripe Connect account.
Complete any login or two-factor authentication Stripe prompts.
Update payout bank details
Click the person icon in the top right of the screen.
Click Payout Details.
Click the edit icon next to your current bank account.
Enter your new banking information:
US: routing number and account number (checking or savings)
Canada: transit number, institution number, and account number
Click Save.
Confirm the update
Review that the new account details display correctly under Payout Details.
Optionally check your Stripe payout history after the next scheduled deposit to confirm funds arrive in the new account.
Best Practices and Pro Tips
Use a business bank account that matches your Stripe business profile when possible.
Prefer a bank account over a debit card for more reliable payouts (especially in the US).
Update before closing your old account so in-flight payouts are not returned.
Keep your Stripe login email current — Stripe sends payout and verification notices there.
Reconcile deposits using the shop Summary Report and your Stripe payout history. See Understand transaction fees, charges, and refunds (Admin Panel).
Common Mistakes and FAQs
Q: Is this the same as updating my RepeatMD subscription payment method?
A: No. Patient payouts use Stripe Connect (this article). RepeatMD subscription billing uses a separate Stripe billing portal. See Update your payment method in Stripe (Admin Panel).
Q: Can I change my bank account in the RepeatMD Admin Panel?
A: Payout bank details are updated in Stripe Express, not on the Admin Panel Payments & Billing page. Initial setup runs in the Admin Panel; ongoing payout account changes run in Stripe Express.
Q: Will changing my bank account affect patient checkouts?
A: No. Patient payments continue processing normally. Only payout destinations change.
Q: Can I use a debit card for payouts in Canada?
A: No. Canadian Stripe Connect payouts require a bank account.
Q: What if my payouts are delayed after the change?
A: Allow one full payout cycle. If delays continue, confirm the new account is verified in Stripe Express and contact Stripe Support.
Q: I have multiple locations. Do they share one payout account?
A: RepeatMD typically assigns one Stripe Connect account per platform to all locations by default. Contact your CEM if different locations need separate Stripe accounts and bank connections.
