Overview:

Missing a feature you need? Want to look back on the changes to ReturnLogic you may have missed? Great! Look no further. This article covers everything you need to know.

February 2025:

Improved address validation

ReturnLogic now offers improved address validation both in-platform and in the customer portal. If an address has a validated alternative that alternative will be presented in a pop-up to select.

Inventory Threshold Changes

Inventory threshold, the feature that prevents items from showing up in the exchange catalog when it is under the threshold, is now broken out into the Exchange inventory threshold, the Warranty inventory threshold, and the Third Party Warranty inventory threshold.

March 2025

ShipHero Integration v2

ReturnLogic now supports both a success and an error message from ShipHero for better automation. Users can set the desired status in their ShipHero integration here or read more about the integration itself here.

Settings Upgrade

ReturnLogic's settings have been rearranged to new sections, allowing for better navigation and taking into account new feature pages from the last few years.

Authorization by Return Type

You can now set each return type to either manual authorization (your team must either authorize or reject each RMA of that type) or automatic authorization (the shopper receives the shipping label/shipping instructions after lodging their return). Set this under each Return Type on the appropriate page here.

April 2025

Switch to Webhooks for Public Shopify Apps

Webhooks allows for accounts on the ReturnLogic Shopify app to have faster syncing of orders and other settings. Learn more about the ReturnLogic Shopify app here.

Refund Amount Added to RMA Items Report

This update adds the amount actually refunded in the ecommerce platform to the RMA Items Report.

Return Types by Return Reason

You are now able to set which Return Types are available if a shopper selects a specific Return Reason. This feature also allows for reasons to be set only for Third Party Warranty. You can set the Return Types for each Return Reason in settings here.

Hide Unavailable Return Types

You are now able to select "Display when Unavailable" for each Return Type in your settings. Previously all return types would be shown even if they were unavailable for that item with an unavailable message, and now you are able to hide those unavailable types. You can find this setting here.

Upgrades for Menu Options

Put your best products up front with the ability to disable the "All Products" menu option for exchange and warranty catalogs. Take a look at this setting here.

Support for Hazard Shipping

ReturnLogic now supports hazardous materials markings on USPS labels. Use one of the available tags found in this article here to mark products that require altered labels.

May 2025

Catalog Product Exclusions

Product tag exclusions, previous exchange/warranty product tag exclusions, are now split between Exchange, Warranty, and Third Party Warranty. For both exchanges and warranties, the product tags will prevent items from showing up in the catalog for selection. For Third Party Warranty, these excluded product tags will not show up in the 3PW catalog at all.

SKU Exclusions

Adding to the above Catalog Product Exclusions, you are now able to exclude individual SKUs from the different catalogs.

Multi-National Shipping

You can now add warehouse addresses from different countries to your account. Labels will be generated for these addresses so long as your Shippo or EasyPost accounts have active carriers for those countries. Learn more about this feature here.

Wildcard SKU Matching

Both exclusions and Product Policies now allow for wildcard SKU matching (using *) allowing for easier setup.

Refunds and Credits for Bundle Items

ReturnLogic now allows refunds and store credits for individual bundle items. The cost of the individual items is proportionally calculated based off of the catalog price of the individual item and the price of the total bundle. Learn more about this here.

Updates to Exchange Catalog UI

The exchange catalog has been refreshed for a more modern look. The item grid system is now more compact and with better image scaling for both desktop and mobile. The variant modal now shows buttons for 5 or less variants and a dropdown for items with more variants. If you select an option that is available, but not in the current config, you will get taken to the first available variant with that option.

June 2025

Updates to BigCommerce Exchange and Warranty Invoices

Charges and "exchange invoice due" are no longer custom line items, and instead deduct from the total discount amount.

Calculations for Exchanges and Warranties

Further calculations are now displayed under the financial fields on the Originate pages for both exchanges and warranties, bringing further clarity to remaining balances and discounts.

July 2025

Warehouse Availability

Warehouse addresses can now be designated as "Always available" (will be considered for RMAs created by shoppers) and "Manual only" (can be chosen only when your team manually creates an RMA). Add warehouse addresses here.

Tracking Information on Shipping Report

Return label tracking numbers are now available on the Shipping Items Report.

Shipping Logic Engine

You are now able to create complex shipping rules based on product tags, return reasons, return types, and more. Replaces previous setting where shipping was only available by return type or return reason. Learn more about this feature here.

August 2025

Final Sale Support for ReturnGuard

Products tagged ‘rl-final-sale’ in Shopify will not be available for ReturnGuard. Learn more about ReturnGuard here.

Order Tag Support for the Logic Engine

Order tags are now a supported way to assign shipping types.

September 2025

Draft Order Price Locking

You can now lock prices at RMA creation, meaning that the draft order will not update if your products change prices during the RMA's lifespan. Find this setting under General Policies here.

Price Change Indicator in Originate

RMA prices on the Originate page will now show an indicator that the price has changed (if price locking is not enabled), allowing for better clarity for exchange invoices.

Exchange Catalog Filtering

You can now set up filter tags for the full exchange catalog, allowing you to target what your shoppers see when they shop the catalog. Menu options can be assigned product tags, and if those tags match those on the returning product the menu option will be shown. If no product tags match then all menu options will be shown. Set up these filters here.

Order Date in Logic Engine

Order date is now a supported option in the Logic Engine, which can easily allow for different shipping rules for older purchases vs. newer ones.

Invoice Indicators

RMAs which have an invoice will now have an indicator at the top of the Originate page.

  • Blank if its an old RMA or an RMA which has not been processed yet

  • Invoice Sent if the invoice has been sent but not paid

  • Paid if the invoice has been paid and we have ingested the new order or if its an even exchange the order has been immediately created

  • Manually Paid if the RMA has been manually processed

Filtering for Unpaid Invoices

You are now able to filter "Only unpaid invoices" while in Originate, allowing you and your team to more easily see a list of outstanding RMAs and contact customers.
