Section Headers in the Reports Module

In the Reports module, section headers help organize and categorize information within a report. They divide the report into logical sections, making it easier to navigate and understand the data.

Section headers allow you to group related data points, enhance clarity, and provide structure to lengthy or complex reports. This helps users quickly locate relevant information, making the report more readable and professional.

Section headers act as a guide, allowing users to follow the data flow and focus on specific areas of interest.

How to Use Section Headers in Your Reports

Section headers are useful tools that help you organize and navigate reports. Follow these steps to apply section headers to a report.

Step 1: Open the Report

  1. Go to the Listing Page, where all your reports are displayed.

  2. Click on the specific report you want to edit. This will take you to the Report Details Page.

Step 2: Add a Section Header

  1. On the Report Details Page, click the 'Add Section' button.

  2. Enter a name for your section header. Choose a name that makes it easy to identify the content, like "Marketing Analytics" or "User Engagement Reports".

Step 3: Organize Your Reports (with Use Cases)

Section headers allow you to sort and filter reports, making it easier to focus on specific data. Here are a couple of common use cases:

  • Navigate Different Reports: Users can use section headers to quickly switch between reports based on relevance (e.g., Marketing Analytics vs. User Engagement Reports).

  • Sort and Filter Reports: Section headers allow you to add sorting and filtering options like “Filter by User Type” or “Sort by Revenue,” making reports easier to navigate.

Step 4: Customize the Section Header Panel

Choose a color from the palette for the section header panel. This helps with data visualization and makes it easier to distinguish different sections.

Step 5: Add Widgets to Your Section

Select the ones you want to include from the available list of widgets in this section. There is no limit to the number of widgets you can add.

Step 6: Save the Section Header

Once you've added the necessary widgets and customized the section, click the 'Save' button to apply the changes.

You can edit and delete the widgets from the section headers. Also, you can change the color of the specific section header.
