How to Create a Waterfall Chart?

Waterfall Charts in Revlitix help you visualize the cumulative effect of positive and negative sales pipeline stages over a selected time period.

Follow this guide to create your Waterfall Report:

Step 1: Navigate to the Reports Module

  • Go to your Revlitix dashboard.

  • Click on the Reports module in the left navigation bar.

  • This is where you can create and manage all your custom reports.

Step 2: Create a New Report

  • Click the 'New Report' button to start a new report.

Step 3: Name the Report

  • Give your report a clear, descriptive name.

  • This name will help you find and reuse the report later.

Step 4: Add a Widget

  • Click the ‘Add Widget’ button inside your report.

  • You’ll see three options:

    • Select from your templates

    • Select from Revlitix the templates

    • Create Custom Widget

Choose ‘Create Custom Widget’ for this workflow.

Configuring Your Waterfall Chart

Step 5: Name Your Widget

  • Label your Waterfall Chart widget and click the Tick Icon to Save.' This name helps you identify the widget later.

Step 6: Select Widget Type

  • From the ‘Widget Type’ dropdown, select ‘Waterfall Chart’.

  • In the ‘Widget Description’ field, add a short explanation of what this chart represents.

Step 7: Choose the Channel

  • Select the appropriate channel from the ones the User has integrated with.

Note: The available channels for this chart are limited to CRM platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot.

Step 8: Select an Object

  • Based on the selected channel, choose a relevant Object

Step 9: Set Pipeline Chart Parameters

Once you've selected the Object (e.g., Opportunity), configure the pipeline-specific parameters for your Waterfall Chart:

1. Pipeline Change Date Range

  • Select the time period during which you want to analyze changes in the pipeline stages.

  • Example: This week to date, Last Quarter, Last Month.

2. Pipeline Closing Date Range

  • Select the date range in which opportunities are expected to close.

  • Example: This week, Next Month, This Fiscal Quarter.

3. Created Date Field

  • Select the field that captures the creation date of new opportunities. Used to identify net new additions to the pipeline.

  • Example: Opportunity Created Date, Close Date, Demo Date.

4. Closed Date Field

  • Select the field that captures the expected close date of open opportunities.

  • Example: Opportunity Created Date, Account Created Date, Demo Date.

Step 10: To Add Pipeline Conditions

Add these conditions to compute the pipeline stages.

1. Open Pipeline

  • Click ‘Add Condition’ next to Open Pipeline.

  • Define the logic that qualifies an opportunity as “open”

  • A configuration pop-up will appear.

Note: Adding the Stage field is mandatory for this condition.

2. Closed Won

  • Click ‘Add Stage’ next to Closed Won.

  • A pop-up will appear for selecting the qualifying stage.

  • Choose the stage that represents successfully closed deals.

Note: You can only add one condition. Adding the Stage field is mandatory.

3. Closed Lost

  • Click ‘Add Stage’ next to Closed Lost.

  • A pop-up will appear for selecting the stage representing lost opportunities.

  • Choose the appropriate lost stage.

Note: You can only add one condition; the Stage field is mandatory.

Step 11: Select the Metric

  • Choose a standard or custom metric that you want to measure changes in pipeline value against

ii. Save as Template

​Option to save your configuration as a template for future reference.

Custom Filters

Custom filters are unique to the Waterfall Chart and allow more targeted data refinement.

Step 13: Widget Creation

  • Click Create Widget to finalize your waterfall chart.
