Introduction
Global Filters in Revlitix help streamline your reporting process by applying specific conditions across multiple reports and widgets. These filters are based on Channel and Object, which connect with widget configurations to ensure relevant data filtering.
Follow the steps below to set up and manage a Global Filter for easier data analysis.
Ways to Set Up a Global Filter
There are two ways to set up a Global Filter:
Through the Global Filter Page
Through the Report View Page
Method 1: Setting Up a Global Filter via the Global Filter Page
Step 1: Access the Global Filter Page
Navigate to the Widget Listing Page.
Click the 'Filter' icon in the top right corner.
The Global Filters listing page will open.
Step 2: Create a New Filter
Click the 'New Filter' button in the top right corner.
The Add Filter page will appear.
Step 3: Define Filter Conditions
Enter a name for the filter.
Define conditions using Dimension Filters by selecting funnel stages, choosing an operator, and entering values.
Define conditions using Metrics Filters.
Add multiple conditions if needed.
Create groups of conditions using 'AND' or 'OR' operators.
Step 4: Save the Filter
Once you've set the conditions, click 'Save to Global Filter.'
Step 5: Access Your Filters
Your created filters will now be listed on the Global Filters page.
Step 6: Manage Filters in Widgets
To attach a Global Filter to a widget:
Click the Filter icon on the widget.
Further details on how to attach a filter from the widget are given in detail in the below section.
To attach a Global Filter while creating a widget:
a. Once the configuration of the Widget is complete, select the Filter icon tab.
b. Choose from the Global Filter or Custom Filter list if one already exists. If not, the user can create a custom filter.
Method 2: Setting Up a Global Filter via the Report View Page
Step 1: Open a Report
Open the report containing the widget where you want to apply a filter.
Step 2: Click the Filter Icon in a Widget
In any widget, click on Filter.
Step 3: Create or Select Filters
You have two options:
Create a New Filter
View an Existing Filter
Step 3.1: Create a New Filter
When creating a widget, you can set a filter from a widget as a Global Filter.
When marked as Global, it will appear in the Global Filters list based on its Channel and Object.
Follow these steps:
Enter a Filter Name.
Define Dimension and Metric Filter Conditions.
Add Conditions or Groups as needed.
Click 'Save'.
Step 3.2: View Existing Filters
You can:
View the list of Global Filters available in the dropdown.
Click the 'View' icon to check a previously created filter.
Create custom filters using the 'Add Filter' button and check the box to select them.
Click the 'Delete' icon to remove a filter.
Step 4: Apply the Filter
Click 'Apply Filter' to finalize the setup.
Key Notes
Global filters are only available for reports on the channel and object to which they were created.
Example: If you create a Global Filter for LinkedIn Ads with an object as Campaign, it will apply only to widgets related to campaigns within LinkedIn Ads.
