Creating a compelling line chart can significantly enhance your reports by clearly representing your data over time.

This guide is designed to walk you through the process step-by-step, ensuring you can easily navigate our platform and utilize all the features available to create your custom line chart.

Getting Started: Access the Reports Module

First, you'll need to head over to the Reports module on our platform. Here's how:

  • Navigate to Reports: Look for the Reports module within the platform. This is where all your data visualization begins.

  • Initiate a New Report: Find the 'New Report' button prominently located at the top right corner of your screen. Clicking this button will kickstart the process of creating a new report, where you can add various widgets, including line charts.

Adding Your Line Chart Widget

Once you're in the report creation interface, it's time to add your line chart widget. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Find and click the 'New Report' button in the Reports module at the top right corner.

Step 2: Give your report a name for easy reference later on.

Step 3: Click 'Add your widgets' to explore the widget options available for your report.

Step 4: To add a line chart, you have three options: use a preexisting template from 'Select your templates' or 'Select from the Revlitix templates', or create a new one by selecting 'Create Custom Widget.'

Customizing Your Line Chart

Creating a line chart that meets your specific needs is crucial. Here's how you can customize yours:

Step 5: Name your line chart widget for future reference and hit 'Save.'

Step 6: Select 'Line Chart' from the 'Widget Type' dropdown. Use the 'Widget Description' field to note why you chose this chart type.

Step 7: Choose the Channel name from the integrated channels list provided.

Step 8: Select an Object that matches your channel's data.

Step 9: Define the Time range (Days, Week, Month, Year) for your data and apply your choice.

Step 10: Configure the 'X-axis' and 'Y-axis' according to your data needs. The X-axis will represent dates, while the Y-axis can display up to two data types.

Step 11: Choose your preferred aggregation method: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. This will determine how data is grouped in your chart.

Step 12: To use your configuration in the future, check the 'Save Template' option.

Personalizing Your Chart

To make your line chart truly yours, personalize it by adjusting its color:

  • Customize Chart Color: Click the color-filled rectangle next to the Y-axis KPIs. Select your preferred color from the palette to make your chart stand out and align with your presentation or company branding.

  • Once this is complete, the User must click the 'Create Widget' button to finish creating a Line graph.

Following these steps, you'll create a line chart and ensure it perfectly suits your reporting needs.
