How to Create a Multi-Line Comparison Chart?

Follow these steps to create a multi-line comparison chart in the Reports module. This guide will help you easily configure and generate your chart.

Step 1: Access the Reports Module


Go to the Reports Module: Navigate to the Reports module in your dashboard.


Click 'New Report': Begin by creating a new report.


Name Your Report: Give your report a meaningful name.


Step 2: Add a Widget

Click the 'Add Your Widget' Icon: Select the icon to add a new widget to your report.

Choose a Widget Type:

  • You can use a preexisting template from 'Select your templates' or 'Select from the Revlitix templates.'

  • Alternatively, create a new one by selecting 'Create Custom Widget'.

Step 3: Configure Your Widget

Select 'Comparison Chart': On the Configuration page, choose 'Comparison Chart' under 'Widget Type'.


Choose 'Multi-Line Chart': Under the Graph type, select 'Multi-Line Chart.'


Provide a Description: Add a description for your widget to define its purpose.


Step 4: Define Chart Parameters


Select Channel Name: Choose the channel you want to create the chart.


Select Object: Pick the object that the chart will represent.


Choose Date Range: Select a date range, which can be 'Day,' 'Week,' 'Month,' or 'Year,' with further options in each tab.


Step 5: Configure Axes

X-Axis:

  • Field Selection: Choose a field value with Dimensions and Date field options. Depending on your choice:

    • If 'Dimensions' is selected, the next dropdown will show values.

    • If 'Date' is selected, choose an aggregation method.



Comparison Values:

  • Field Selection: Similar to the X-Axis, choose a field value with Dimensions and Date options.

    • If 'Dimensions' is selected, the next dropdown will show values.

    • If 'Date' is selected, choose an aggregation method.



Y-Axis:

  • Metric Selection: Choose a Y-axis metric to measure and select 'Date' from the Date Field options.

Step 6: Average Line:

Average Line:

Enable this setting to denote the average of the given metrics to create an average line across the graph.

Step 7: Advanced Settings (Optional)

Color Settings: Change the color of the graph under Advanced Settings.

Step 8: Save and Create


Click the 'Show Values' Checkbox: To display the values on the preview graph on the right side, click the 'Show Values' checkbox.


Save as Template: Click 'Save as template' to use this configuration later or allow other team members to access it.


Create Widget: Hit the 'Create Widget' button to generate your multi-line chart.


Save Report: Click 'Save Report' to add the newly created widget to the Report.


By following these steps, you can create a multi-line comparison chart that visualizes your data effectively.
