How to Transfer Ownership of a Folder in Sales Analytics

In Sales Analytics on the Revlitix platform, transferring the ownership of a folder allows you to hand over your responsibilities and access to another user. This process is straightforward but important for maintaining the correct flow of data access and collaboration. Here’s how you can transfer folder ownership.

Steps to Transfer Ownership

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you transfer ownership of a folder to another user.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility to Share

  • Ownership and Permissions: Only the folder owners and users with edit access can initiate sharing or change the folders' ownership.

Step 2: Access Sharing Options

  • Navigate to Folder Options: Locate the folder you want to share or transfer. Click the options icon (often three dots) on the folder you wish to manage. You will see options such as 'Rename,' 'Share,' and 'Delete.'

Step 3: Initiate the Transfer

  • Open Sharing Settings: Click 'Share' to open the 'Folder access' card. Here, you will see the list of users and their current access levels.

  • Enable Share Access: Enter the team member's email address and click the 'Can Edit' option from the drop-down menu.

  • Select Team Member: The User may choose the name of the team members with whom they can share the folder.

  • Select Transfer Ownership: Find the drop-down menu next to the user's name to whom you want to transfer ownership, and select 'Transfer ownership.'

Step 4: Confirm the Transfer

  • Confirmation Pop-Up: A confirmation message will ensure that the transfer of ownership is confirmed.

By following these steps, you can smoothly transfer a folder's ownership, ensuring that the right users have the necessary access to continue working effectively.
