6. Can someone take over my tenancy?

Short answer: no, a transfer of the tenancy agreement is not possible.

When a rental agreement ends, the tenancy always formally ends with the current tenant(s). This means the contract cannot be transferred or taken over by a partner, co-resident, or household member who is currently registered at the address.

What is possible?

If someone you know is interested in renting an apartment at Rhapsody, they are welcome to apply through our regular rental process.

This works as follows:

  • The interested person can create an account via Verhuurtbeter

  • Availability, eligibility criteria, and application steps are handled by the rental agency

  • All candidates are assessed in the same way, based on the applicable requirements

For answers to commonly asked questions about registration, income requirements, and the application process, we recommend checking the Verhuurtbeter FAQ directly.

Important to keep in mind

Ending your tenancy and applying for a new apartment are two separate processes. Submitting a termination does not give priority or preference to a known candidate.

If you have practical questions about your move-out process, inspections, or delivery requirements, please refer to the other articles in the Moving Out section.
