T&M With Rates makes it easier to manage pricing across your projects by allowing your company to create reusable Rate Tables for labor, equipment, and materials.

Instead of maintaining individual rates on each project, Rate Tables allow you to define rates and the criteria Rhumbix should use to determine when each rate applies. Rate Tables are then assigned to the appropriate projects or groups.

When a T&M form is created, Rhumbix uses the project's assigned Rate Tables and the information entered on the form to find the appropriate rates.

💲 How Rate Matching Works

Rates can be configured using criteria that help Rhumbix determine which rate should apply.

For labor, for example, rates can be matched using employee information such as:

  • Trade

  • Classification

  • Union

  • Certification

  • License

Multiple criteria can be used together to create more specific rates. When criteria are populated on a rate, the applicable information must match the configured criteria for that rate to be selected.

↕️ Rate Order Matters

Rhumbix evaluates Rate Tables and the individual rates within each table in order.

When Rhumbix finds a matching rate, that rate is used. Because of this, more specific rates should generally be placed before broader rates.

For example, a rate specifically configured for a union journeyman may need to appear before a general journeyman rate.

A general rate with no matching criteria can also be used as a catch-all when no more specific rate applies.

🏗️ Assigning Rate Tables to Projects

After a Rate Table is created, it must be assigned to the projects where it should be used.

Multiple Rate Tables can be assigned to a project. Their order determines which table Rhumbix evaluates first. If Rhumbix does not find a match in the first table, it continues to the next.

Rate Tables can also be assigned at the group level and applied to multiple projects using Cascade Settings.

👷 What Foremen See

Foremen can continue entering T&M information without needing to manage pricing.

By default, Foremen do not see the pricing information on T&M forms. Rhumbix matches and applies the appropriate rates in the background. Users with the appropriate permissions can then review the pricing and make adjustments when necessary.

This allows the field team to focus on accurately documenting the work performed while authorized users manage pricing.

📄 Priced and Unpriced T&M

T&M output can be provided with or without pricing depending on the user's permissions and the intended recipient.

T&M forms can also be bundled together. The T&M bundle provides a summary of labor, equipment, materials, and ticket totals across the included forms.
